$150,000 – Mike – Minnetonka, Minnesota
A handyman who enjoyed his work as the maintenance director for several large apartment complexes sustained a significant foot and ankle injury while running to a local hardware store to return an item when another customer loss control of 10-foot board that slid off the edge of the service counter and landed on our client’s foot. He was forced to undergo months of physical therapy, and eventually surgery to correct the damaged ligaments and nerves in and around his left foot and heel.
The injury was so significant that he was unable to continue with his job as a maintenance director and worked reduced hours for several months before eventually being let go because of his inability to do the work.
He then was left with a very painful foot, and the inability to earn an income to take care of himself and his family.
Our attorneys took on his case and endeavored to negotiate resolution with the defense, but were met with very small offers, claiming the incident was merely an accident and our client was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
After several months of litigation, our attorneys were able to secure a settlement for our client.
$185,000 – Pamela – Eden Prairie, Minnesota
While crossing a crosswalk to enter a grocery store the wife of a former client was struck by a vehicle. She was thrown to her left side and sustained a hip and left low back injury. She underwent physical therapy, injections, and eventually radiofrequency ablation procedure, a procedure that must be repeated every 12 to 16 months and is very expensive.
Her doctors also imposed restrictions preventing her from sitting, which removed her from the workforce for a lengthy period of time and her finances suffered.
Our attorneys pursued resolution on her behalf. Because she had pre-existing low back injuries, initial offers were very small. To strengthen her case, our attorneys secured medical support from her doctor showing this was a new injury and was clearly related to the car-on-pedestrian collision. Using those medical reports, our attorneys were able to secure a settlement which enabled our client to be able to cover her lost wages as well as future medical care for her injuries.
$185,000 – Andrea – Cohasset, Minnesota
A registered nurse was rear-ended while running errands one day. Unfortunately, her spinal injuries were significant, necessitating months of physical therapy, injections, and eventually radiofrequency ablation procedure, which is very expensive.
To make matters worse, her doctors had imposed restrictions which precluded her from being on her feet for lengthy periods of time, and she had to leave her job since they could not accommodate her restrictions. She had several young children and was without the means to take care of her children and herself.
Complicating her case, she had prior low back pain which she had treated, causing the insurance company to present very small offers.
Our lawyers collected pre-accident medical records, and worked with her doctors to obtain supportive reports, showing her pre-accident injuries were significantly aggravated by the motor vehicle crash. We then negotiated with the insurance company and were able to secure a settlement for our client.
