Here are just a few examples of our Long Term Disability appeal case wins against Lincoln Financial.

We've got you covered

Siri – Sales Associate – Greenacres, Florida

Degenerative Disc Disorder, Chronic Knee Pain, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Disorder

A Sales Associate from Florida applied for Long Term Disability benefits with an insurance company provided by her employer after suffering from degenerative disc disorder, chronic knee pain, anxiety, depression, and panic disorder. Her Long Term Disability benefits were originally approved by the insurance company. However, Lincoln Financial terminated benefits when she relocated to a more affordable part of the country and had not yet established care with new providers.

The attorneys at Fields Law Firm contacted both the old and new medical providers, obtained assessment forms and letters demonstrating her doctor’s support. Based on those statements of support, updated medical records and the convincing legal analysis in our appeal memo, the attorneys at Fields Law put together an appeal that Lincoln Financial could not dismiss. Our client was receiving benefits again two months after the appeal was filed. She was happy to be able to focus on her medical care and not have to keep struggling with Lincoln Financial.

Chris – Project Coordinator – Stockton, California

Lumbosacral Disc Syndrome, Degenerated Lumbosacral Disc, Lumbosacral Radiculitis, Lumbosacral Facet Syndrome, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia

A Project Coordinator from California applied for and was denied for Long Term Disability benefits through an insurance company policy provided by her employer. Lincoln Financial notified her that it was denying Long Term Disability benefits based on their determination that she could work her regular occupation, which was considered sedentary. She knew she could not continue to do her job. She did some research on how best to fight back against Lincoln Financial’s wrongful denial and came across Fields Law Firm.

Once retained, the attorneys at Fields Law acquired medical records, a narrative report from a treating doctor, and two functional capacity assessments from her treating doctors, and submitted an appeal. Lincoln Financial initially tried to maintain their denial and threatened to send our client to one of their doctors for a medical exam. However, the evidence and arguments submitted by the attorneys at Fields Law was too much for Lincoln Financial to argue against, and they approved our client’s benefits.

Scott – Purchasing Agent – Chatsworth, California

Cardiomyopathy, Depression, Shoulder Replacement

A purchasing agent had multiple heart surgeries for cardiomyopathy and his condition left him extremely fatigued and short of breath often. Eventually, his symptoms worsened, forcing him to stop working. Shortly after he left work, his son unexpectedly passed away. Lincoln Financial approved him for Long Term Disability benefits due to his heart condition and depression from the loss of his son. After receiving benefits for two years, his insurer suddenly stopped paying benefits.

With this abrupt loss of income, he contacted Fields Law for assistance. The attorneys at Fields Law immediately contacted the insurance company for a copy of the claim file. Our attorneys found that the insurance company did not account for our client’s depression in their analysis. The Fields Law attorneys submitted a strong appeal and ultimately, Lincoln Financial overturned their original decision. Our client received a lump-sum check for back-pay and was awarded ongoing benefits. He was happy with the result, and pleased with the professional representation of Fields Law.
