A Cottage Grove man fell off a ladder while working at a major retail store. He contacted our law firm shortly after the injury occurred because he was concerned the store was trying to fire him for filing a Workers’ Compensation claim. Initially, the Workers’ Compensation insurer was paying his Workers’ Compensation benefits and the initial X-ray showed only bruising of his knee.
A little over a month after the initial injury, his Workers’ Compensation was denied despite the fact that the client’s work injury had not improved. Unfortunately, he went on to suffer a second injury with the same employer; he injured his back when lifting a TV.
He underwent an X-ray, which showed a disc protrusion in his back. The doctor ordered an MRI, additional physical therapy, and a referral to a spine clinic.
